About Us
Nugen's Ranch was established in 1982 by Leonard and Henrietta Nugen. The farm was located off the Palmer-Wasilla Highway in Wasilla under Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services, Inc. (AARS), one of Alaska's longest-running adult residential substance abuse treatment programs.
AARS provides work-therapy and life-skills training to its client population through Nugen's Ranch. The farm's greenhouse flowers, vegetable fields, and hay production not only provided for the community, but give clients of AARS opportunities to learn farming opportunities and help build a sense of self-worth in their recovery.
AARS relocated Nugen's Ranch and its treatment program to Point Mackenzie in 2012 where it currently occupies 116-acres.
